Tools
Materials
- T-Shirt
Instructions
Prepare file & customize settings in Cricut Design Space
- Download the file(s) from our resource library or our shop and upload to Design Space.
- Measure your T-shirt and iron on vinyl to decide what size to make your file.Since my iron on vinyl sheet is 12 inches wide and the design is wider than tall, that helped me decide on the size.
- Resize the file according to the size of your vinyl and T-shirt.
- Check that the operation is set to "Basic Cut" and change the color of your file to better visualize how it will look.
- Select the file in the layers panel and click "Attach" in the lower right corner.
- Click "Make" in the top right corner.
- Select the mat you are going to use and click "Continue".
- Turn on your Cricut machine and click continue. Wait for it to connect.
- Select the material by clicking "Browse All Materials", use the search bar to search for Heat Transfer or Iron On. In this case the correct one for me was "Heat Transfer (non-Cricut)".The iron on you have typically include what setting to choose.
- Turn on mirror. Then place the heat transfer vinyl on the green cutting mat with the shiny side facing down.
Cut on Your Cricut
- Load the mat and press the load button on the Cricut machine.
- Press Go and let the Cricut cut your file.
- Then click the unload button on the Cricut and done on your computer.
Weed the Iron On Vinyl
- Weed the vinyl starting in the top left corner.
- Go slowly and make sure you don't weed out any pieces that are a part of the design.
- Once you are finished weeding, check that the design looks right. Then remove it from the mat.
Use the HeatPress
- Set the Cricut EasyPress to the temperature given on your iron on packaging.
- Lint roll the T-shirt to avoid any dust.
- Preheat the T-shirt for 5 seconds.
- Place the Iron-On Vinyl on the middle of the T-shirt.You can also use a T-shirt ruler to help with placing it correctly.
- Gently press the EasyPress over the printable HTV for the time given on your iron on packaging. If it hasn't adhered, repeat for 10 seconds .
- Gently remove the backing. The iron-on vinyl packaging will say if you should remove it when it's hot or wait until it's cooled down.
- Your personalized T-shirt is finished!
